INSTRUCTORS

 

The major risk you face when you attend a tournament is student loss.  Although a properly structured and managed tournament can add life to your school, giving your students something exciting to focus upon (increasing students practice and enhancing retention), a poorly structured and managed event can drive students out of your school in large numbers.

 

 

How can tournaments cause you to lose students?

 

Because most students will leave the average tournament feeling like losers.  If, for example, you have 16 children in a given tournament division, only one child within that division will usually go home happy, two other children will go home relatively happy and the other 13 will go home unhappy, either thinking they are losers or were cheated.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT IN OUR EVENT

 

On this event we want to make sure everyone has a good time, our event will not cause you to lose any students.  In fact, it is possible that you will increase your students dedication to you, your school, and the martial arts.  Our personal goal is to keep your students in your program even longer.

THE BASIC CONCEPT

 

The basic concept of this event is much different than that of other tournaments.  Its different in that it, as its name implies, enables every child who enters to not only go home feeling like a winner but actually be a winner, with a medal to prove it.  Our event is also different from other tournaments in that its not geared towards determining who the best competitors are.  Rather, its geared more towards giving those who dont normally compete, have never competed, or have not done well in previous competition to have a positive experience that increases their self image and their desire to compete again.  You can use our event not only to create greater self confidence in your students (to make them feel better prepared physically and psychologically to enter regular events) but also to train your tournament staff, coaches and parents in the martial arts way.
